Unique Strategies for Evaluation & Treatment for children with Torticollis- Nancy Neiditz
Nancy taught a condensed version of an 8-hour CEU course she has taught to PT’s and OT’s around the USA and abroad. Her talk encompassed the etiology of Torticollis, the contraindications to treatment, and how to best engage and work with babies and toddlers with this ubiquitous diagnosis. She sees at least five new babies almost weekly and can help them with only a handful of sessions. On her website Nancy offers materials she developed for a family-home program to help children recover from torticolis.
Nancy and her work: “Infantile Torticollis and Plagiocephaly: Fix it at Home”, was chosen as an e poster along with a brief synopsis to premiere at the Copenhagen International Forum on Quality & Safety in Healthcare in May 2023.

Making Every Movement Count for Healthy Hip Joints- Carla Oswald Reed
Streaming Replay Available
Carla is known as the “hip person” among many of her Feldenkrais® and ABMNM® colleagues because of her passion for preventing hip subluxation or dislocation. She will share the MANY ways that practitioners and children’s families can bring variation of movement into the ordinary care and activities of children from infancy so that the risk of hip subluxation or dislocation is vastly decreased. The younger these variations are introduced for the child the more normally the child’s hip joints will develop and the less likely the child will manifest hip subluxation or dislocation.

Carla is a published author and presenter on the Feldenkrais Method and ABMNM; creator and presenter of Making Every Movement Count workshops for parents, professionals, and fellow Feldenkrais and ABMNM Practitioners; and mother of four and grandmother of seven. - Moshe Feldenkrais in the Feldenkrais Method®
- Magda Gerber of Resources for Infant Educarers®

Making Feldenkrais Financially Accessible to Exceptional Children - Gabrielle Allen
Streaming Replay Available
In 2016 Gabrielle founded the Community Program for Exceptional Children (COPEC) to make NeuroMovement® lessons accessible to exceptional children, their families and classroom aides from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The presentation will discuss the status quo of federal and state-funded child development intervention, the need for adequate developmental learning opportunities for children with special needs and their parents, and funding options for a Feldenkrais-informed approach over the long-term.
About Gabrielle
Gabrielle discovered her passion for working with children through her experience with her son, who had sensory integration issues and dyslexia, and the children she witnessed as a volunteer in schools. She saw how their unrecognized deficiencies prevented them from keeping up socially and academically.
Gabrielle was initially trained in physiotherapy in Germany. She worked for ten years in hospitals and private practice with people with muscular-skeletal problems, post-orthopedic surgery, repetitive stress injuries, and neurological disorders. Gabrielle has been a certified Feldenkrais Method Practitioner® since 1996 and a certified Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement® Practitioner for children since 2012. She has maintained a private practice in Oakland, CA since 2006, since 2012 predominantly serving children with special needs.
Today, Gabrielle attends IEP (Individual Educational Plan) meetings of the children she works with and educates teachers and therapists about the Nine Essentials of Neuroplasticity and consults with them on how to integrate these principles with daily activities in the classroom.
